An all-day guided tour around the historic centre of Bologna in search of the earliest origins of the city, where the mysterious Etruscan Felsina and the glorious Roman Bononia still remain hidden to this day in the shadows of its perfectly preserved medieval porticos and towers. And though the Renaissance provided Bologna with some of its most emblematic sights – the Fontana del Nettuno and the Palazzo dell’Archiginnasio – the centuries that followed enriched the beauty and culture of the city, with the Teatro Nazionale and university buildings being of particular note. An all-day guided tour around the historic centre to discover the modern Bologna, where a charming itinerary featuring centuries-old markets and historic shops steeped in tradition will pique your curiosity as they recount the architectural, social and urban changes the city has undergone over time. The city’s most recent history is to be found in the fascinating Manifattura delle Arti area – once the old port – but is now a focal point for local artists and nightlife.
